317L Stainless Steel Bar Description

The chemical composition of 317L stainless steel bars leads to the unique properties and characteristics. This type of stainless steel is composed of a combination of elements such as chromium, nickel, molybdenum, and carbon. Chromium is the most substantial component of 317L stainless steel and makes for its exceptional corrosion resistance. It helps form a protective layer on the metal surface, preventing rust and staining. Molybdenum is associated with better resistance to pitting corrosion from chloride solutions commonly found in harsh environments such as seawater or chemical processing plants.
